OREWORD In hoping to make this book more than just a mere dec- oration on your bookshelf, the members of the 1956 Gold U staffhave tried to capture true pictures of the year--pictures of what will some day be memories, some of the best memories of your life. Q Union High School, at the present site, was founded and constructed in 1921. Since then many additions and improvements have been made to the buildings and grounds. In 1940 a new gym- nasium was built and the grounds surrounding the main building were cleaned and some new trees were set out. In 1954 the High School building and the old gym were remodeled inside and out and the building took on the look of a new and more modern school. The football field behind the school has had many changes toog such as, new bleachers, lights, a house for conces- sions and the beginning of a new fence. We are sure that the future holds many new additions and improvements for old Union High. We are also confident that the buildings hold many memories dear to all those who have attended school here and that this book will be like 'old-school-week to all those who take time to enjoy it. n
