Mrs. Libke was formerly Miss Thelma Whaley. Next appeared Miss Wanda Yung who had had a wonderful success with her voice and was singing with the Cass Chautauqua. Then a badly disordered room appeared and a young man sat at the desk writing. As I looked over his shoulder I saw a book which he had just completed, I supposed. On the first page I saw these words: Re- spectfully inscribed to Miss Flo Schofield--Singer. Myron Abram al- ways did favor the ladies. Then a small country schoolhouse and from all appearances Miss Elsie Edwards was at the head of affairs. This asserted itself to be a fact when she seized a small boy who had been making faces at her and demonstrated the proper uses of rulers. After this there came a great social affair of some sort with the Misses Dorothy and Edna Graham as the favored guests although they would be scarcely recognized by those two names at this time and place. Russell Wyatt had evidently formed a partnership with Ralph Miller in the humble profession of farming, for lo! I saw Russell industriously shucking pumpkins and Ralph peddling the same through the streets of their former home town. Harry Aikman has a large pair of spectacles as well as a brilliant future before him for I saw him in Hollywood as the director of an Art- craft picture to be released after 1933. The leading character in the play was Emory Page who is to be known as Scales in filmland, because he doesn't always balance. George Luxton who was an ardent student of the classics, has used his industry advantageously and has succeeded in obtaining a degree from Browns School for the Crippled. Clara Hammock has a beautiful home in Bloomington, Ind., where her husband, Mr. Jack Bedwell, is a teacher of Science in I. U. Hazel Exline and Covart Walters always lived close together but they are now dwelling together peacefully under the same roof. Paul Scott has a scientific research and is propounding the theory to his class in Industrial Arts that H20 is water. I-n the mist was- Hunter KL Mitchell Dealers in Cosmetics of all kinds No C. O. Then the mists cleared and my future, alone, was not revealed, but I am glad of this fact that I certainly will never wish to look ahead of the present time as many startling revelations as this short period of time brought to me. We thought we were a clever bunch but very few others did, they said that we were green. The year passed and was uneventful, for we had no time for social affairs. Four of our teachers resigned during the year including our superintendent. Miss Brenton by her untiring efforts kept the school together. Much time was lost on account of the flu, but we looked for better times next year. The second year we were more socially inclined, giving two parties and a moonlight picnic. On the picnic one of our faculty fell in a ditch but was not hurt. Our third year found new students enrolling in our classes. As jolly Juniors we gave three parties. Two were given in the K. of P. hall. We wish to take this opportunity to thank the Knights of Pythias for their favors to us during the time when we had no place to give parties. We were a full-fiedged class until our Junior year, that is, every one had made all his credits up to that time. But at last our significant year has come. Our Senior year, the year that each must bid the other good-bye and think of the future. This has been an eventful year. We moved into our new building and began to organize for a real school. On March third, Mr. Wetherow, State High School Inspector, visited our new building and gave us an inspiring talk on education. He also told us that he would recommend us to the State Board of Education for a commission on March seventh. This was the greatest event. The year ends with a Junior-Senior reception-we hope. 99.3.29 SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Many are the times when We desire to look into the future, even if it be only for a short time. Not a great time past I was sitting wondering where the class of '22 would be in ten years. While I was sitting there I thought I saw a mist gather and in a short time I was able to see human forms in its midst. Then I heard a soft murmur which seemed to impress upon my mind the thought, Watch carefully if you would know the future of your classmates. I watched eagerly and by this time the figures were easily discernible, and to my great surprise I recognized Mr. and Mrs. Avon Libke walking down a lone path, he with a Bible in his hand. So one kicked Mossy and broke his arm, Thus bringing the team to no small harm, A disappointment for us all. Ruby's from the country but, listen to me, A great place for her in the world, we see, Without the smallest doubt. Her studious brain touched slightly with egotism Will win high fame, but such harsh criticism Hardly befits one so especially gifted, Evidence on both sides being carefully sifted, Of her we shout. That blue-eyed Uckster, strange to relate, Can get the most history through his pate, Unbounded is the extent. He recites with calmness 3 he thinks clearly too. His basketball guarding is hard to get through The girls think he is great, they love him by far Best of anyg here's to Avon, he's our star, A fitting compliment. Hazel has black hair, and eyes that are keen, That's why she likes Rubyg she'll think we're mean To mention the fact That since she's a beauty of the brunette type, For her the beaux fall fast and ripe. Her constancy, her affection is always true, It's If you love me, why-I love you In substance, that old compact. Yea, Aikie, what's the matter now We see you've contracted your majestic brow Another hard question to ask. His philosophic turn of mind Is incomprehensible to most mankind. He's business-like to an extreme degreeg His plans, to understand, you take it from me, Are in themselves a task.
