She also gave the candidates corsages. The princesses were Lilly Elliott, from the Senior class, Kay Ferguson, from the Junior class, Bonetta Morrison,, from the Freshman class, and Joyce Wes-tenskow, from the FHA at large. In honor of the Queen and her court, “Three Hits and a Miss,” consisting of Jim Pollard, lead tenor; Dick Hibbert, Bass; Jerry Posey, Baritone; and Marcia Mac-Pherson, 1st Tenor, sang “Earth Angel,” “Lazy River,” and “Moon Glow.” After they finished, Don Swart's orchestra played “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” for the Queen princesses, and their escorts. To carry out the theme, the decorating committee, con-sising of Patty Hagey, Margaret Powell, Eleanor Edvalson, Jo-Anne Ricker, Patsy Hutchinson, Karen Miller, Nancy McConkie, Melba Watts, and Linda Rogers made different sizes of sparkley blue and white stars. The stars had the couples’ names on them and were hung from the blue false ceiling. On the back wall was a moonlight scene in silver glitter with a boy and girl, drawn by Ardythe Wilde, with a moon and stars. The table decorations were blue glittered stars setting in white angel hair. The stage was decorated by the candidates. They had blue and white stars on the side surtains and on the middle curtain they had “Sweetheart 1957” written in blue and white crepe paper with blue and white stars for “1957.” The refreshment committee consisted of Ella Mae Denton, Diana Wilkinson. Sharon Crossland. Minnie Bell Barton, Dixie Ballard, and Linda Adkins. For the refreshments they had cookies and punch. The napkins were red and white, with red and white hearts on them.
