Mr. Forest Barr is a graduate of Albion High School and the University of Michigan, where he received his A.B. and Master's degrees. When he first came to Union, Mr. Barr taught in the fused program. However, typing and bookkeeping are the subjects Mr. Clayton Bazuin is a graduate of Central High School. He attended Grand Rapids Junior College and the University of Michigan where he received his A.B. degree. Doc Bazuin came to Union in 1923 and has taught every subject during his 35 Mrs. Marguerite Crossman is a graduate of Sagi- naw High School and the University of Michigan, where she received her A.B. degree. Before com- ing to Union in l95O, Mrs. Crossman taught English at South High School, and after coming to Union, Miss Ruth Carpenter began her teaching career at Sigsbee School in l9l6. Previously, Miss Carpen- ter had graduated from the University of Michigan with an A.B. degree and had received her Master's in Spanish at Middlebury College. Spanish was Miss Carpenter's primary subject, and for many Floyd Pop Early is a graduate of Comstock High School in Kalamazoo County. He graduated from Western Michigan University with an A.B. degree. After finishing college, he taught for four years in rural schools near Kalamazoo and was principal of Buchanan High School for three years. He came to Union in i924 as a math teacher. Pop Early has always had an avid interest in teen-agers and enjoyed working with them first as sophomore Mr. Barr has taught for the last 20 years. In addi- tion to his classroom duties, Mr. Barr is the school treasurer. Mr. Barr's plans for the future include writing short stories and spending more time with his family. years here. ln 1928, he took over the supervision of the School Store, Doc's hobbies are fishing, gardening and traveling, and after his retirement he plans to do research work, to write, and to keep a garden. English was her major subject. ln l95l, Mrs. Cross- man became the Guidance Counselor and has served in that capacity since that time. ln the future, Mrs. Crossman plans to relax with music, reading, and traveling. years, she was the Spanish Club Advisor. Miss Carpenter spent one year teaching in the Philip- pines and there received a good background in Spanish. Following her retirement, Miss Carpenter plans to spend most of her time at her country home. class advisor, then as junior class advisor, and finally from i948 to the present time, as senior class advisor. After his retirement, Pop plans to travel in the United States and Canada and to build toys for his grandchildren in his basement hobby shop. Because he was brought up on a farm, gardening is another hobby he plans to pursue.
