1404 ' a' With the United States and South America becoming more closely united, Spanish is indeed proving itself a worthwhile subject. Reading a newspaper from Mexico and the Spanish edition of the Readers' Digest were the unusual activities of the Spanish IV class this year. Because Latin is the foundation of all romance languages as well as the vocabulary fund for most modern sciences, it is a valuable language to know. To meet wartime needs, French, taught by Miss Scholes, was reintroduced here the second semester. Knowledge of the art of newspaper writing is obtained in the interesting journalism classes taught by Miss Heseltine.
