Mr. Charles A. Everest, Unions well- liked principal, is very liberal in his ideas with students, and is kind and considerate toward his teachers. lf there is a question any student would like to have cleared up, all he has to do is to see Principal Everest. He will first listen, then answer the question in such a way that the caller never hesitates to consult him again. He stands for right and justice. He is a man who is always on the job and always on time, usually a little early. His main characteristic is that whatever he does he goes into whole-heartedly and stays with it until it is satisfactorily finished. Outside of school he has acted as presi- dent of the Teachers' Club, for which he has done excellent work, member of the governing board of the Humane Societyg and ex-officio member of the Michigan Education Association. Gardening and golf are his favorite hobbies. He grows beauti- ful flowers which you see often on the office desk. 'M li'f iilf its pf, Charles A. Everest Principal Administration Miss Blanche Mann Assistant Principal - k -V - -.Q in ...N, ..-. , Miss Blanche Mann will always be re- membered by the graduates of Union High School for the helpful advice she gives them. This year particularly she has spent much of her valuable time placing boys and girls at work for the N. Y. A. ln addition, she has acted as adviser for the Student Council, which meets on Mon- day the eighth hour, the Service Squad, which promotes self government, and the Counsellors, a group that straightens out the questions of new students. All these groups are formed to build character and to teach self discipline. Miss Mann is a firm believer in truth and can stand for most anything but a lie. She is always willing to help students and tries to keep them from losing interest in school life. ln her leisure time she farms and sews. She likes gardening but only when it's con- nected with farming.
