Van Deuren, Coach Natter. One point is as good as a hundred if it comes at the right time. Coach Natter's cagers ' provided the spectators with some breathless moments of suspense as they waited until the final seconds to drop the ball through the hoop to win the game. We are proud of our basketball team and the fine showing they made. Their good sportsmanship and fine play won the respect All-Conference Forward of every team in the Conference. Tim Baggot was named Captain by his teammates, and Tom Gussel was selected as the Most Valuable Player for the 1959-1960 season. Tom Gussel has been the team's leading scorer for 3 years and the second highest scorer in school history. He was Conference top scorer his junior year and second high scorer his senior year, missing first place by one point. During his Varsity career he totaled 1285 points. He was named All- Conference Forward both his senior and junior years. TOM GUSSEL Coach Natter with seniors Ragan, Tofson, Van Deuren, Baggot, Gussel, and Stowers.

The record of coach o'Ma11ey awards football letters. 6 wins and 2 defeats was not the best in the schoo1's history, but it was good . enough to get a third place in the Con- ference. The team started out with a 38 to O non-conference win over Beaver Dam. The following Friday the team opened the conference schedule with a 14 to 6 loss to Viroqua. On October 2, the Tomah War- riors suffered their only defeat at the hands of the Dells by a score of 14 to O. p The season continued with a 14 to 12 win over Mauston and a 21 to 14 win over Richland Center. On October 23, our Homecoming was a complete success when the Dells beat Baraboo 12 to 6. On October 30 a close game was lost to league-leading Reedsburg by a score of 12 to 7. The sea- l son ended with a strong win ove ortage l 21 to 0. 56
