Juidd Jllyrile avid One day last fall our Heavenly Father looked down upon Miss Myrtle Davis and, seeing the good work she had done, said: Well done , and called her home. Her ready smile and constant helpfulness were outstanding qualities which she possessed so completely and traits which we, in striving to be more like her, daily hope to portray. Some one has said that, of the gifts with which a bene- ficent Providence has endowed men, the gift of memory is the noblest. Since Miss Davis was called away, we more fully appreciate the quotation. We remember her as we saw her at school, bending over some child patiently and untir- ingly playing so well her role of teacher. 'Tis true a teacher cannot immediately see the good she accomplishes, but many of Miss Davis's pupils will ever see her as a guiding star beckoning them on to higher things and a nobler way of life, and truly they shall rise up and call her Blessed. l What a lovely picture to think of each child that was ever taught by her as being one tiny star in her brilliant crown. Yes, Heaven must be brighter by Miss Myrtle's being there. She lived for those who loved her, For those who knew her true, For the Heaven that smiled above her And wanted her spirit, toog For the cause that lacked assistance, For the wrong that needed resistance For the future in the distance, And the good that she could do.
