SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 7.1951, fourteen energetic freshmen en- rolled in the Scandinavia High School to begin four years of learning. Two weeks later initiation was given by the seniors making them fullafledged memhers of the Union Free. Their freshmen class officers were: president- Will iam Poutwell, vice president-Tom Thorn, secretary treas- urer- Carolyn Larson. In our freshmen year James Gjerte son, Reuben Jensen and Virginia Rasmussen participated in forensics. Nearly all of us were members of the chorus; a number of the boys participated in sports. During ' this year, a freshmen and sophomore party was held. The next year we came back to begin our second year of our joyous days at the Union Free in 1952. Their soph- omore class officers were: president- Mary Ann Engebret- son, vice president- Virginia Rasmussen, and secretary treasurer- Carolyn Larson. This year James GJertson,James Gurholt and David Holtebeck participated in forensics, We were, as before, active in singing and sports. Mary Ann was chosen a B team cheerleader for the second time. Mr. Prentice was our class advisor. As we began our third year we had twelve members in our class.David Holtebeok participated in forensics. Our class adviser was Mr. Holm. Our class officers weretpres- ident- David Holtebeok. vice presidentharold Zawachi,sec- retary treasurer- James Rasmussen. This year Mary Ann was elected an A team cheerleader. In our senior year the enrollment of our class was twelve. The class officers for this year were: president Alton Olson, vice president- Reuben Jensen, secretary treasurer- Arthur Krueger. Mary Ann was selected captain of the A team cheerleaders. This year as in the past mem- bers of this class participated in forensics, music and sports. James GJertson was elected honorary captain of the basketball team. Our class adviser was Mr. Lee. The royalty of our Junior and senior prom, which was held on April 16, was Alton Olson-king, Virginia Rasmussen- queen. Reuben Jensen and Mary Ann Engebretson crowned the royal couple.
