In 1936, Russell began his education at Blake Brook School. During his eight years of elementary schooling he also attended Scandinavia and Elm Valley Grade Schools. ,In the fall of 1944 he entered Scandinavia High School. Russell played the bass horn in the band for four years. and played on the base- ball team for three years. He also-took part in dramatics and forensics. He was the presi- .dent of his class during his Junior year. Russell's likes are as follows: actress, June Allyson; actor, Robert Walker; food. . banana pie. His pet peeve is old time music.
