The English Department marched boldly and forcefully forward with its Phase Elective English program, a method by which more diversity in courses was available and more re- sponse to the students individual needs was possible. From almost every aspect, the program was an overwhelming success. Student inter- est in English reached a new peak, and teacher awareness of students' special requirements was enhanced.
