Approval of bills, buying of boolcs and merchandise sold in fhe Boolcsfore are all parf of Mr. Mayer's responsibilifies. IBM dafa processing equipmenf shorfened many of fhe accounfing procedures fhis year, wifh IBM charging machines recording aufomafically sfu- denf charges for fhe cafeferia, laundry and boolcsfore. Sfudenf billing and faculfy and sfudenf payrolls, as well as financial sfafemenfs of all fhe college operafions and fhe five indusfries on campus are all handled fhrough fhe new IBM equipmenf. Miss Helen Holm handles fhe miscellaneous charges fhaf come info fhe accounfing office for sfudenf accounfs, using fhe IBM equipmenf. As chairman of fhe Financial Commiffee, Mr. Goff dealf wifh every financial aspecf of fhe col- lege, from building problems fo individual sfudenf finance. Mr. Goff was also a member of fhe Adminisfrafive Council, fhe College Board of Trusfees, fhe Scholarship and Granfs Commi'Hee and 'l'he College Relafions Commiffee. He made a frip fo fhe Denver campus once every fwo monfhs. ln March he wenf wifh a General Conference survey feam fo inspecf fhe denominafional schools in Canada. One of fhe oufsfanding innovafions made while Mr. Goff has been af Union College was fhe infroducfion of elecfronic dafa processing in keeping financial accounfs and academic records. Mr. Roy Crawford, Assisfanf Business Manager, worked closely wifh. fhe sfudenfs bo+h in his posifion as financial advisor fo fhe Associafed Sfudenf Body and in his workin fhe Business Office, where he supervised sfudenf finance. Sfudenfs having difficulfy meefing col- lege expenses mef wifh him fo work ouf loans or scholarships. Mr. Crawford also helped sfudenfs locafe jobs, eifher on or off campus.
