Sherri Grimm, Bottom — Lori Ninman, Ginger Garner, Tracy Austin, Melody Taylor, Tara Highfill, Renee Mitchell, Michelle Herrmann, Shannon Rankin 18 Playing hard. Working hard. Always striving for the vic- tory. Even though we were in Junior High, we didn't feel in- timidated by the high school. We just kept on playing and kept on winning. We shared everything this year — from the sweat to the memories. We learned a lot while we were Junior Lady Tigers, but we ll always remember the times we shared on the court, in the locker room, on the bus and in the halls at Union City. ay • Play this way • Play this way Play this way • Pla Top row — Michael Allen, Jason Boblit, Jeremy Garrison, David Epperson, Jason Lee Morrison, Harley Wiyninger, Jackie Richey, Justin Powell, Bottom row — Ron Norvell, Ricky Straka, Earl Woods, Jason Morrison, Timmy Novosad, Andy Tatum, Donnie Grubisa JR HIGH BOYS BASKETBALL Play this way. The Jr. High boys played their way. They practiced together. They played together. They won together and lost together. They rejoiced and remorsed together. But, through it all, they were a team. They learned responsibility and learned to work as a team. And together, the players and coach, with help from the fans, were led to victories such as the one against Calumet. They were also led through trial times when victories weren’t in sight for them that night. But through it all, they were together as a team, one for all and all for one. Top row — Lori Ninman, Ginger Garner. Michelle Herrmann. Bottom row — Sherri Grimm, Liz East (head), Katie Kelly, Shannon Rankin (mascot), Renee Mitchell, Jennifer Oden Junior High Cheerleaders Unions HIGH 1 Ginger Garner. Liz East (head) Michelle Herrmann. Renee Mitchell Junior High Cheerleaders — all at once, we were at the top. We led our classmates and ball players to vic- tory, and encouraged them in defeat. You saw us on game days, dressed in our blue and white uniforms. We watched you as you walked through the school year and we tried — oh so hard — to get you to walk through the halls with some spirit. Tiger Spirit. The real stuff. We walked through 1986-87 with that spirit in our hearts. Being a junior high cheerleader had its ups and downs. But, still, through it all, we cheered our team on to victory. Perhaps we won’t be remembered for having the best legs on campus, but we do hope we will be remembered for our energy, our en- thusiasm and our expertise. We tried, and when you're a tiger, that's all that counts! ION flGH Lori Ninman, Jennifer Oden Shannon Rankin (mascot), Sherri Grimm, Katie Kelly 20 The yearbook staff working hard as usual. HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SPORTS High school, perhaps, is the hardest of all school years. And when you strive to be the best, those years are even harder. But, that is just what high school boys did on the basketball team. They drove, and worked hard all year. They wanted to be the best they could be, and they showed it in their basketball playing. These boys spent many hours practicing, working with each other. They were held together by a good team spirit, a good coach, and the need for self satisfaction. There were many victories, and many losses for the team. But, through it all, they still had the determination they need- ed to make it through the tough and trial years of basketball. The seniors played their best, it was their last year. The juniors worked hard. Next year, they will be in the spotlight, if they worked hard enough this year. And the sophomores worked hard just to make it. Coach Jay Oepanion Jimmy Smith shows his concentration skills. Top row — Jimmy Smith, Billy Dewore. Bill Garner. Dewayne White.
