Carle Cutchall, La Deama Collyer, Maxine Cuyler, Nelson Woodruff, Wilbur Grimes, Jean Stevens, Junior Ashdown. The Union City HighSchool Band started the year off with 41 members. Mr. Parker was their director. They started drilling in the fall and played and marched for all the football games except one. At the beginning of 1947, Mr. Parker risigned and Gordon Bray took the band until another director could be located. The new band director Mr. Reed came from Battle Creek. He is now giving excellent instructions on a few march and concert pieces. The day every band member had long waited for finally arrived. The new uniforms were really here.

One group was the 'freshman choiru which had fifteen members who were from the freshman class and upper-classmen who had not previously been members of the choir. The other group was the nAdvanced Choir' which had twenty members who were upper classmen. Both groups were under the capable direction of Mrs. Moore with June McDowell as their accompanist. During the second semester the two groups were united. In the fall the 'Advanced Choirn sang before the meeting of the 'Federation of Women's Clubn at the Methodist Church in Coldwater. The choir also sang several numbers at the High School Christmas program. The choir was not as active this year because some of the members were unable to attend regularly since there were other classes held at the same time. Even with this difficulty, the choir had a fine repertoire of music and increased their musical appreciation and ability. R
