Oktoberfest Special And Unique Another special and unique activity originating from U.C. is our Oktoberfest. Clubs and organizations must have money to operate, so the idea of a fall moneymaking activity came into being. This annual event provides each group with an opportunity to show their wares and earn needed capital. OKTOBERFEST October 11, 1986 SADD: Tacos and drinks — NHS: Fish pond and pumpkin patch — Swing choir: Sausage and kraut and drinks — Success: pictures FFA : pork chops and pig roast Freshmen: hot chocolate and cookies Cheerleaders: bake sale — Art Club: ceramics, baskets, etc. — Sophomores: Cane toss and sponge throw — Seniors: car wash — Photography Club: Caricature and cartoon photos — Bible Club: soft pretzels — Health Careers: Blood pressure and blood sugar tests — FHA: Pizza and coke — DECA: Slush puppies — Randolph Eastern Classroom Teachers Assn.: Cotton candy. Demonstrations Merle Keltner, Calligraphy; Joan Sickles, Basketweaving; Reland Sutton; Quilting; Mary Brctz, Stained glass; Ted Lcahcy, Miniatures. Entertainment Pantomime, Reed Steele; Folk music. The real German Band; Gospel, Heaven’s Jubilee 1. N.H.S was in charge of the pumpkin patch. 2. The Student Council General Store sells many interesting items. 3. Mr. Schmidt and Jay Spradling ready the pumpkin for the senior raffle. 4. Stacy Mills helps set up the stage for the entertainment. 5. The crowd was sparse due to the many other events scheduled for the same day. 6. Senior car wash is a big success. 7. The S.A.D.D. booth was very successful. 8. Todd Mendenhall and Kathy Nunley enjoy the FFA pork chop dinner. 9. U.C. students enjoy the entertainment. 10. The cheerleaders sample their baked goods before selling. 11. The mime provides an audience participation skit. 12. Angel Hall sells a yearbook to an eager customer. 14
