Student Council The Student Council had another successful year in spite of state regulations cutting school meeting time. The group met at 7:30 every Tuesday morning to plan and organize their many activities, which included the usual Oktobcrfcst, carnation sales, school dances, etc. Their most successful endeavor this year however, was their “secret pal” project. Each member was assigned a teacher “pal” to whom they gave notes, candy, and miscellaneous surprises though the school year. Some “pals” were more active than others and there were good-natured comments among faculty members about pals dying or moving away. This project ended at a May breakfast, where the teachers learned the identities of their pals. All the faculty reported huge enjoyment of this special project. This year’s officers were: Christa Snyder, President; John Jones, Vice-President; Andrea Hap, Secretary; Corey Van Skyock, Treasurer. Corey Van Skyock also received the honor of running for and winning the position of district representative for 1985 through 1987. ?■ 1. Melanie Mote and Davie Stout represent Student Council during Homecoming. 2. Anne Brumfield takes time out to give Mrs. Glenn a hand. 3. Christa finds time to take a break from her duties as Student Council president. Friends look on during the Arbor Day ceremony as a tree is planted to honor Steve Reish who died this year in a car accident. 5. Andrea Hap and Michelle Hoover take their turn working during Career Day. 6. Angie Stover sells Darrin Keiser carnations for Valentine's Day.
