On Thursday, September 11th, the Homecoming activities began with the usual pep session, bonfire, and powder puff game. The Seniors showed thir prowess and for the second year in a row emerged as champions. Friday festivities began as the floats, cars and contestants lined up in the school parking lot and began the procession through the downtown area. The Homecoming theme this year was Disney characters and was cleverly carried out by all the classes. Senior theme and float were voted tops, however, with “Swallow the Dogs”, depicted by a whale that rolled his eyes, moved his tail and spouted water! The fog began moving in at halftime until the visibility was almost zero, and the spectators had difficulty recognizing the King and Queen candidates as they walked across the field following their introductions. Lori Gates and Von Ebeling were crowned reigning royalty during the hazy halftimes ceremonies. The third and fourth quarters were shortened, but even the fog couldn’t save the Indians from a 46 to 6 defeat by the Lapel Bulldogs. The fog became so dense that the usual post game dance was cancelled.
