19 THE BUCCE55U5 3d Robert Ely-- Eli served as cantain and layod as guard. Otly here, was second high scorer with four years of the net game and three years with the bunch that went to Winchester. John Minnich— Huey was the Apollo of the team. Johnny has curly blonde hair.Also, he scored the highest number of points of the team. His second and last year on the varsity. James Cotter--Jim was regular center and several times he pulled gsmes out of the fire with some of his neat baskets. This year marked Jim's first on the tourney squad. Robert Chattin—Bob was always there on the defense and could be counted on to break up the opponent's offense. This made his fourth year of basketball and his second yesr as one of the first ten. Wendell Riffle--I!ardwork-ing and aggressive described Windy. Nib, as he was also called, did not get a chance to try for the squad until he was a Junior; he made the tourney squad that year. 26

19 THE SUCCESSUS 38 Harold Buckingham—One of the seven seniors on the tourney squad. It was his first year. Buck proved valuable st center. He was the tallest man on the squad. Ivan Xeever--,,Dhu is a junior who has had no Drevious experience. By bearing down,” he saw action in the tourney 8nd some season games. Stanley Riffle— Stan is a good shot and he broke sway from the second team early in the season. Although he is a sophomore, and is small and light, he is speedy enough to make it up. John Kirwin--Johnny is also small, but very capable.:'e played most of the Season on the second team; however his hardwork put him on the tourney team. Robert 3rierly-- Cheese made his first bid this year and in addition to other things, his 250 greatly helped to boost the average player’s weight. He played all the positions. 27
