19 THE SUCCESSUS 38 rRESHMEN The freshmen class, whose members will soon become sophomores, has a total enrollment of fourty-four. This class has much of the pep, vim, vigor, and vitality needed to enliven the high school. All the freshmen boys who went out for spring basketball hope to make the team next fall. Many of them also entered spring baseball practice. All the boys take active parts in boys' intra-mural events. However, the girls are not to be outdone by the boys. They entered the Indian kickball and volleyball tournaments. Their opponents always seemed to be the sophomore girls who usually defeated them. Many of the girls belong to the Sub-Deb Club. Some even have active positions as officers. Two members of our class,Martha Jane Schricker and Eugene Caupp, are on the Student Council. Many freshmen are in the band and orchestra and two students have active positions on the Westerner staff as reporters. There are many representatives in the Glee Club, and several on the bowling teams. This class should make a name for itself in the next three years. 22
