Sandra Devereaux - Secretary Samual Harrison - President Harry Musser - Vice President Joan McCrillis - Treasurer Nancy Broadhurst - Historian The class of '59' claims the distinction of being the first class to attend seventh through twelfth grades in the new high school building. ln these six years our class has been very active in all of our endeavors. As sophomores we were the first to sell candy instead of jello. We spon- sored the Sock Hop which was the first record hop to be held in the Union City High School. As juniors we set out to break more records by selling 83,100.00 worth of magazines, which was 3600.00 over our goal. This is to date the largest sum of money ever made by a Union City High School class selling magazines. Our next spectacular as Juniors was the Wes Hopkins Hop. At this record hop we featured the famous KYW Cleveland disc jocky, Wes Hopkins. We are proud to say that at this event we had the largest crowd ever to attend a Union City High School dance. In April we presented a most successful play, which was a three -act comedy entitled So This is Bliss. On May 23, 1958 we put on a lavish Jr.-Sr. Banquet. On May 23, 1958, we presented a real ultraex- travanganza, a thousand dollar prom! The theme for the prom was Oriental Gardens with the fabulous music of the 15 piece Wes Scott Orchestra. On September 3, 1958, we entered the hall of good old Union City High School as the High and Mighty Senior class. The first big event of the year was the Tom Trot, which was very successful. It was all round and square dancing, featuring music by the Happy Gang. As a public service we spon- sored buses to away football and basketball games. To raise money we held weekly fudge sales. Our much awaited class trip will be held from May 14 to May 17, 1959. Baccalaureate is scheduled for May 31, 1959, and the Senior class night will be held June 1, 1959. The big day of commencement will ar- rive on ,Tune 2, 1959. Although this day has been long awaited, we, the class of '59' will always cherish the memory of days spent at our Alma Mater, Union City High. Sponsored by A. I.. SCHUMAKER STUDIO
