CLASS HISTORY In the year of 1949 under the guidance of Miss Martin, 22 first graders started on their journey to the first grade room. They were Janet Line, Becky Lipkey, Litia Earnest, Ruth Fritz, Janice Caley, Jerry Shutt, Phillip Smith, Fred Crowl, Lois Settlemeyer, David Bunsold, David McBride, Sonja Smith, Karen Stolte, Lois Fritz, Betty Cline, Carol Scare, Jack Keidel, Bruce Reidenbach, Myron Trennepohl, Larry Gaskill, Gene Parker, Robert Fairchild. We welcomed two new students in the last half of the first year. They were Jerry Fusselman and Alan Dixon. Everyone remained that year except David Bunsold and Myron Trennepohl. As we started our second year of school, we found Mrs. McClure as our teacher. We also had four newcomers. They were Keith Gallaway, Tom Fisher, Ricky Gardenour, Frank Gonzales. At the end of the year Betty Cline, Jerry Fusselman, Alan Dixon, and Bob Fairchild left us. The summer flew swiftly by and before we knew it the class was divided. Half was greeted by a new teacher, Mrs. Lesh, and the other half remained with Mrs. McClure. Two new students arrived. They were Larry Newhard and Steve Campbell. In the fall we were greeted by our old school buses and returned to be advanced to the fourth grade, where we had Mrs. Lesh. Some of our old members left us. They were Carol Scare and Ricky Gardenour. We left this room in a hurry to enter the fifth grade. We had a new teacher this year. Her name was Mrs. Meacham. We had some new members that year. Their names were Beverly Meacham, Wayne Guerin, Homer Story, and Bob Fairchild. At the end of the year we found that everyone had passed. The next year we were started off with Mrs, Hoopingarner. We were very happy to be the - first class of sixth graders to move upstairs. Mike Markey, John Rosenthal, and Patty Vance joined us this year. Mike Markey, Beverly Meacham, and Homer Story left us. The next year we were in Junior High. This made us practically adults, we thought. Eugene Able, Caroline Baughman, and Lois Jean Schoenauer came into our class; and we lost Eugene Able, Litia Earnest, Larry Gaskill, Gene Parker, John Rosenthal, Lois Jean Schoen- auer, Sonja Smith, and Patty Vance, Now we were teenagers and in the eighth grade. We gained two new members, Wendell Bookout and Martha Thomason, and lost three. They were Wayne Guerin, Phil Smith, and Martha Thomason. At last the great day arrived. We were in High School. Dave McClure joined us and Wendell Bookout and Caroline Baughman left. In our Sophomore year we started making money for our senior trip by having bake sales, car washes and selling candy. Our new classmates that year were Sondra La Crone, Larry Lash, Bob Rice and Carol Rice. We lost Larry Lash, Fred Crowl, Sondra La Crone, and Dave McClure. Our Junior year arrived and with it came our class rings, first class play and other projects such as magazine sales, and a chili supper, Phil Smith rejoined our class in the last semester. At last we reached our senior year. This was a very busy year. We had senior pictures taken, gave a play, and had a chili supper, two skating parties, and sold magazines and Christ- mas cards. We ordered our invitations, name cards and caps and gowns and chose our class motto, flower and color. The climax of our year was the trip to New York and Washington and the graduation exercises. And now out of school life and into life's school.
