The Class of 60 in 1988 CLASS PROPHECY It is December 41, 1988 and we find the class of 1960 taking their annual canoe trip down the muddy Wabash to Fort Vincennes. In the lead canoe we find PHILLIP NORRIS in his 1988 streamlined canoe (the one with the swing out seats.) Phil is head canoe paddler and leader of the expedition. Sitting in the two swing-out seats immediately behind Phil are ROSE OSBORN and CARALENE FISHBAUGH who balance his canoe and supply him with drinking water. Next in line is MYRON BRADBURN and his wife BONNIE COOPER BRADBURN in their barge. They have to have a barge because of the enlargement of their family. The children do the paddling while Myron and Bonnie relax. The expedition spots two hunters on shore; they are FLOYD and LARRY MEYER who have been bear hunting in the hUls. Behind Floyd and Larry we see a woman; it looks like REIDA WOODS. As the canoes come closer we see it is Reida. She is carrying the two bears the Meyer hunters have shot. In the third canoe we see KATHRINE RICHARDSON REED now the wife of a famous veter- inarian; she is doctoring TONY TOMEI who has developed sea sickness. He says that the sight of water always scares him. As the canoeists arrive, the foot of the gates open and the custodian RONNIE MULLES steps out to greet them. He has been custodian at the fort ever since he graduated from high school. Next we have JUDY CASTON who is head cook at the fort. Recently there was an outbreak of food poisoning, but Judy kept everything under control. Her health in high, helped considerably. LINDA BURNAU has been assistant cook to Judy for the last 10 years. She has the qualities that Judy has but just can't seem to apply them to her cooking and therefore making no headway. She thinks she would like to go back waiting tables for soldiers. The washwoman at the fort who is MARY ANN GERBERS was very glad to see the cancers coming as that would give her more washing to do. Everyope knows she loves to wash clothes. The people on the canoe trip are all awaiting the nightly stage show that is put on for the soldiers benefit. It is none other than KAREN QUACKENBUSH and NANCY WILSON who have a way with acting and expressing themselves. FRED ROBINSON and DAVE RENNER are the only two prisoners in the brigade. It seems Fred deserted and took Dave with him as a hostage, Dave gave no resistance so they both are locked up waiting to be freed. CATHY FATEjust doesn't do anything around the fort, but keep up the soldiersmoraLe.lt seems Cathy tried training horses for a while but they wouldn't do anything, she said, and she got dis- gusted and quit. It seems the fort recently lost GENERAL JOHN WALMSLEY who went off and married one of those pretty little Eastern gals. They now live in the White House or we should say a white house.
