GIRL'S 4-I-I - From I-lemlines To Livestock The officers for the senior club this year were as follows: President, Jeanne Thomas: Vice Presi- dent, Marvel Bradburn: Secretary-Treasurer, Janet Allen: News Reporter, Agnes Wilson: Recreational Leader, Sue Newhard: Song Leader, Shirla Anderson: Health and Safety Leader, Virginia Earnest. The officers for the junior club were: President, Jane Gardenour, Vice President, Janet Boxellg Secretary-Treasurer, Janice Corelli News Reporter, Patricia Spaid: Recreational Leader, Lillian Osborn: Song Leader, Suzanne Boyd: Health and Safety Leader, Janet Quackenbush, Shirla Anderson, Anna Newhard and Agnes Wilson served as junior leaders. Anna was also our representative at 4-H Roundup at Purdue. The senior club toured Fort Wayne visiting many interesting places, The junior club enjoyed their annual picnic at Memorial Park in Fort Wayne. During the summer we had camp at Limberlost, Oliver Lake. One of the high spots in the summer's program was the 4-H Fair. Our Union Township float was planned around the theme, I'm Looking over a 4-H Clover, and took first prize. Our group portrayed the first Girls 4-H Club in the dedication pageant. Anna Newhard placed first in the District Clothing Judging Contest at Wabash and placed in the blue ribbon group in the state contest at the State Fair. Sue Newhard exhibited her Home Improvement at the State Fair and received a first placing, Sue received a third placing on her Food Preservation and Jeanne Thomas a second placing on her Baking exhibited at the State Fair. This year our Achievement Program was held with the members of the Home Demonstration Clubs as our guests. With 100 per cent 'of the enrolled members in the senior club completing their projects and 93 per cent of the members in the junior club completing, we will add the sixth seal to our charter. This year the band has played at some of our basketball games and the combined county band played at the county basketball tourney. The last half of the school year the combined bands from Lancaster, Ossian, Rockcreek and Union gave a program at each one of the schools. On April 10, the county band took part in the county musical and were in charge of the first part of the program.
