Front Row: left to right Billy Fisher, Bob Christman. Joe Hanauer, Tom Jackson, Dave Beavis, Larry Lesh, Jerry Quackenbush, and Larry Burgess. After a blistering beginning the Junior High basketball team tapered off and finished the year with a won-loss record of 10-6. Most of the losses were by a very narrow margin with Chester the only team to defeat the Jr. Badgers by more than four points. Chester was the only team that was not defeated in the return game. All games were marked with the Very even scoring which ten times sp.elled victory. The teams defensive average was 25.0 while the offensive average was 31.18. The squad was composed of ten eighth graders and four seventh graders. The starting lineup was usually chosen from Jerry Quackenbush, Larry Burgess, David Beavis, Larry and Jerry Corell, Billy Thurber and Joe Hanauer, By defeating Rockcreek and Vera Cruz the team advanced to the semi-finals of the county tournament where it was defeated by Chester 29-26 in a hard fought contest. The 1950-51 Junior High free throw was awarded to Larry Corell with a .550 percentage with several others following closely with .500. Nancy Thurber and Janet Allen were yell leaders and Lynn Smuts student manager.

The squad consisted of the following players: Don Hoopingarner, catcher, John Hanauer, 3rd baseg Phil Wilson, catcher, Dick Youkey, right field, Danny Dafforn, 2nd base, Don Taylor, center field, Delos Fisher, left field, Joe Huffman, 2nd base, Terry Bowman, right field, Bob Leimenstoll, center field, Eugene Norris, shortstop, Hal Platt, pitcher. The season ended with the team having 5 wins and 4 loses. We defeated Lancaster, Liberty, and Petroleum once and Lafayette twice. We were defeated by Chester, Jackson, Ossian, and Rockcreek.
