We can not literally pick up this shield and carry it around so this is a great faith proj- ect connecting us to the Giver of faith. We visualize a great shield, so when the darts of unbelief and doubt are thrust by the enemy, we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. John says that faith is the vic- tory by which we overcome the world. Faith is an essential element in sal- vation. The more of it we have the more we can do for God. We should al- ways remember to carry the shield of faith at all times. May God help us never to lay down this shield, but rather hold it high, warding off the pierc- ing arrows of doubt, unbelief, despair and discouragement. Psalm 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield.
