E - I DIVISION E-l Division is responsible for UNDERWOOD's propulsion systems. Divisional personnel preform corrective and preventive maintenance, and accomplish all necessary upkeep of two LM25O0 Gas Turbine Engines and associated systems, equipment and spaces. The division is comprised of the Gas Turbine Technician-Mechani- cal CGSMD and Gas Turbine Technician-Electrical CGSEJ ratings. The GSM's are primarily responsible for the mechanical side of the Gas Turbine Engines, associated pumps, valves and other auxiliary equipment in the Main Engine Room. The GSE's are responsible for the electrical side of the Turbines, and are also responsible for the engineering control consoles required to operate the Engineering Plant. The Oil Kings are also part of E-1 Division. All fuel and oil systems aboard UNDERWOOD fall under their responsibility. A variety of fuel, oil, and Water tests are accomplished in the Oil Lab. This ensures that only quality fluids are used in the Engineering Plant. Underway, the Oil Kings have the additional duty of ensuring that fuel used in the helicopters periodically attached to UNDERWOOD, or not attached, is the finest in the fleet.
