CLASS PROPI-IECY Dear Joe, It's the year l965 and ithas been ten years since we've graduated. Last week Idecided to look up all my old classmates of '55, I got in my new Jaguar and started out with high hopes and great expectations. The first place I stopped was at a gas station, and who do you suppose walked out? Who else, but my old classmates Larry Callaway and his wife, the former Kathryn Botsford. They were very prosperous in the gas busi- ness and had ten little gas pumps. They left their gas business in the hands of their oldest son Larry Jr. and climbed in the car to look up the rest of our classmates. The nearest place was the Isaacs farm. The former Audrey Cloyed had married John Isaacs. We found her milking the goats while John was taking care of the twenty-four children in the fifty room mansion. In the front yard was setting ten oil wells. Theyleft the children with his sister Wretha and started out for New York. We went to see 'South Pacific playing on Broadway and who do you think we saw? Janice Helm and Jane Lemka, who had become chorus girls. We went behind stage to talk to the girls. They asked us out to their Park Avenue Penthouse where they lived. Jane and Janice wanted to know where Kenneth Block was keeping himself. He had married Rosella Callaway and was living in Kansas City, Missouri. He had become champion boxer. He was going to fight Rocky Marciano at Madison Square Garden. Rosella left their five children with a baby sitter and accompanied us to the fight. It was a full house that night but we had reserved seats. Most exciting fight of the year. Kenneth was crowned champion of the world. The class attended the wedding of two of our classmates, Colleen Beckard and Larry Battling, held at the Luthem Memorial Church at Syracuse, New York. All the classmates attended the wedding. They received many expensive gifts from their classmates, they gave them a new house, already furnished. They said they would go with us to Canada for their honeymoon. We saw a mailbox along the road that had Leland Isaacs' name on it. We wondered if it was one of our classmates. Wedrove up the lane and Leland was milking the cows by hand. We thought he was very backward. He asked us in for supper that evening. We stayed all night and the next morning he took us in his airplane to see our last but not least classmate Larry Halvorsen. We found him in Beverly Hills, California living as a bachelor. He was working at Paramount Studio. He took us through the whole studio. We saw many famous movie stars. He was going to play opposite Marilyn Monroe that evening. He invited us to stay. After the show the whole class went out to the Brown Derby to eat. After that, we all returned home tired but happy.
