CLASS HISTORY It was ona Septembermorning way backin 1951 that we climbed up the steps of U. H, S. We were very shy and scared. Included in this group were Jane Lemka, Kathryn Botsford, Colleen Beckard, Audrey Cloyed, Janice Helm, Larry Callaway, Larry Bartling, Larry Halverson, Leland Isaacs, Kenneth Block, Dale Isaacs and Ivan Beckard, We were royally Initiated by the Seniorsg and after that the going was easy. We elected as our class officers for the year --Pres. -Kathryn Botsford, Vice Pres. --Larry Callaway, Sec. - Treas. --Colleen Beckard. In September 1952 we returned for our sophomore year. We lost Dale Isaacs who had joined the Navy and Ivan Beckard who started farming, We all participated in sports, music and other school activities. Our class officers this year were Pres. --Janice Helm, Vice Pres. Kathryn Botsford, Sec. -Treas. --Ken - neth Block, Our junior year was a busy year for us, In the fall we presented our class play 'Professor How Could You. We were the second class to present our play in the new auditorium. In the spring we held a ban - quet for the seniors at Cotner Terrace in Lincoln, Our theme was a Dutch Scene. Our officers were Pres. -- Kathryn Botsford, Vice Pres. --Janice Helm, Sec. -Treas. --Jane Lemka. The long awaited year finally arrived-at last we were seniors. We made our annual year book. We picked our class play which was 'There Go The Groom. Everyone enjoyed the play very much, Then came the Junior-Senior Banquet which was held in Lincoln. Afterwards, we were royally entertained. Then came the time for the Seniors' Sneak Day. We all had a lot of fun and wanted to stay longer, but decided we had better get back home. '- - . CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of 1955, of the City of Unadilla, County of Otoe, and the State of Nebraska do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament. I, Kathryn Botsford, will my job as librarian to Peggy Laughlin, my green sweater to Roger Kastens, and my brains to the Freshman Class. I, Larry Callaway, leave. I just hope I get to leave! By that time there won't be anything left to leave. I, Janice Helm, leave my ability to drive to anyone wanting to die young, my ability to play volleyball to Rachel Block, and my figure to Marilyn. I, Larry Battling, will my shortness to Frank, my ability to sing to Milton Leefers, and my glasses to Eddie Stub- bendeck. I, Colleen Beckard, leave my ability to flirt to Wretha, my laugh to Jerry Leefers, and the Neeman boys to who- ever wants them. I, Kenneth Block, will my weight to Robert Callaway, my ability to get into trouble to Peggy Laughlin, and my class ring to Rosella. I, Jane Lemka, will my car to Ralph Ross, my slimness to Milton Leefers, and my ability to cheerlead to next years cheerleaders. I, Leland Isaacs, will my curly hair to Virginia, my ability to play baseball to Paul Cooper, and my ability to milk cows to Marilyn. I, Audrey Cloyed, will my ability to get along with John to Wretha, my ability to sing to Ralph, and my job as editor of the paper to David Kinnaman. I, Larry Halverson, will my brains to Donald, my ability to play basketball to Robert, and my ability to write essays to Eddie Stubbendeck. To the Juniors we leave our jobs on the Annual Staff. To the Sophomores we leave our ability to keep out of trouble. To the Freshmen we leave our brains. Cwhat few we have.J And to the teachers, we leave peace and quiet since we will be gone.
