1981 Wildcat EDITOR Mark Palmer CO-EDITOR Renee Arivctt UMPIRE HIGH SCHOOL UMPIRE. ARKANSAS Volume II Dedication We, the annual staff, take great pleasure in dedicating this year s 1981 W ildcat to two fine men. Their devotion to coaching and concern for their teams have not gone unappreciated. Jack Thompson has been coaching for 25 years in various places in Georgia and Arkansas. His wife. Patti is coaching at Dierks. Besides coaching the Junior and Senior Boys at Umpire, Coach Thompson enjoys duck hunting. Grover Hill has been coaching for four years. He coached two years at Dierks and has coached two years at Umpire. He and his wife, Ramona, have a son, Dustin, who is one year old. Other interests of Coach Hill arc a partnership in a trucking business and growing chickens. We hope they enjoy being at Umpire as much as we enjoy having them here. 2 LEES TV Dierks, Arkansas AMERICAN FARM AGENCY REAL ESTATE Mena. Arkansas Administration BOARD OF EDUCATION James F. Manasco. NOW! The gates of yesterday are dosed behind us and the fields of the other years we shall till no more. We gather no harvests from the acres of Tomorrow! But Today is ours to enjoy and use. Are there heights to be climbed, are there wrongs to be righted, are there deeds to be accomplished? Then let us attempt to do them now. This is our hour for labor, for liberality, for service. Today is our day for worship, for friendship, and for love. Let us make the most of it while it is ours. 34 Call Us Today, 845-2680, About Getting On Our Savers Payroll. This year every man, woman, and child will use the equivalent of a 100-foot tree - for building materials, paper, packaging and other products made from wood and wood fiber. Through research, fertilization and thinning, our High Yield Forestry helps nature increase its output. And by planting millions of trees annually, we help make sure we have products - and a place for wildlife - in the future.
