For the second straight year the fighting Bulldogs reached the quarter finals of the state playoffs and as always no one person can claim full credit as each member was equally responsible. Receiving highest acclaim on this year’s squad was Mickey Donaldson and David Foster as they both were named to the all state second team. Donaldson played both first string quarterback and defensive back the entire season while Foster was a defen- sive tackle until a midsea- son injury. Both the offensive and defensive lines were noted for their abilities and often made the difference in the games as they cleared holes for their own backs and clogged holes against the opposing backfields. Games highlighting this season included an opening 6-7 loss to triple A power Jacksonville Bolles which proved to be our only loss until the playoffs when we were defeated by Ft. Meade and a few close calls. Other victories included a stomping 40-0 win over then first ranked Wildwood. This victory alone shot us up five places in the state standings to the number two slot. rival Eustis by a definite 47-6 margin. Down in Clermont both the hosts and the visitors fell prey to a torrential rain storm and the Bulldogs just squeaked out with a one TD victory.
