Innovation In Administration Mr. James E. Gant is the second in command and he acts on all pertinent matters in the absence of the princi- pal. This is Mr. Gant's third year at U.H.S. His most important job is being Mr. Reagan's right hand man here on campus. Mr. Gant has a Bachelors Degree from Troy State College and a Masters from the University of Florida. He is the sponsor of the Student Council and the Interclub Council. Mr. Ivan Mish's job is Dean of Students. This is his first year at U.H.S. and he is primarily responsible for student discipline at all school activities and functions. You might find him showing lost seventh graders the way or keeping underclassmen in line. These are just some of his many responsibilities. He is highly respected by the students. Mr. Mish has his Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Florida Atlantic University. He is coaching the golf team this year.

U.H.S. Welcomes New Principal Mr. Robert C. Reagan is the chief at U.H.S. This is his first year here and we feel that he's doing a wonderful job. He administers and supervises the total educational and extracurricular program of the school, while still finding the time to work with teachers and students individually. Seemingly he is as often found in the office as on the grounds and in the classrooms. He generates school spirit wherever he goes and he does more than his share of the work. We are very fortunate to have him with us. Mr. Reagan has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Carson-Newman College and a Masters Degree in School Administration from the University of Tennessee. 12

Curriculum Generalist And Guidance Counselor Mr. John Westervelt has been at U.HJS. for thirteen years. He has served as math teacher and coach and is now Guidance Counsellor. He administers and supervises all Pupil Personnel Services normally conducted with stu- dents on personal and career problems. Mr. Westervelt is a graduate of U.H.S. and has his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree from Stetson University. He is the Athletic Director and coaches the Swim team. Mrs. Esther Thacker is a Curriculum Generalist at U.H.S. Her primary responsibility lies in the area of cur- riculum development. Some of her duties are assisting the teachers in securing material for instruction and recommending curriculum changes to the principal. Mrs. Thacker has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree from Florida State University. This is her second year here and she has been a big benefit to the school. k 12 L)e?1r rm ■ 4 14
