Award Social Studies Award American Legion Citizenship HISTORY Once upon a time in a wee little room, a small group of first graders began. They were Jack Austin, Patty Cooper Jackie Sue Penley, Barbara Ann Maxwell, Helene Ervir Patricia Bobo, Hartley Hethcox, Glenn Gambrell, and Prances Howard. Someone must have made Glenn Gambrell and Pat Bobo mad, because they left us. Mrs. Hethcox never had a corner empty. One year later, we find a little girl in a wee maroon coat sitting all alone, very sad because this was her first day in the second grade in Umatilla. Her name was Joann Brown from Marion County. Then, Patricia Bobo found we weren't so bad after all and decided to rejoin us. Third grade passed and there are no new additions. Fourth grade_and we find Mias Merrill as our teacher. This was the year we caught up with Brock DeMuth, Roger Johnston from the hills of Tennessee, and Virginia Parrish of Frostproof, Florida, Joined us.This year we went to St Augustine. The Fountain of Youth made 3ome of the boys so young they started crawling. Everything was going smoothly until the 5th grade when from the woods of Paisley arrived Jerry and Jeannie Shockley. Vernon Smith and Theresa Williams Joined us later in the year. Mrs. kilker helped us with our Fairy Dance in the Nutcracker Suite The sixth grad Ma Snyder was forever having a clean-up-the-room day. Also, the same year the operetta Peter Rabbit was put on. Most all of us were in this as carrots, peas, or lettuce. Now Junior High School and we thought we were Big Deals chang- ing classes and all Seventh grade Gerald Nichols from Orlando and Peggy Van Salus from Pittman bree-zedin. Eighth grade gave us Glem Gam- brell again from Tenn„, Pat Bissett from West Virginia, and Moreland Coates from Kentucky. These boys were really disappointed when they found they had to wear shoes. Also, Christine Sasser of Alabama, Joined us later in the year. Freshman year and we find we are called rats Sophomore year Dorothy DeWolf came from Ft. Lauderdale and later Jerry Kenyon came from Jacksonville, Florida, to woo all the girls. Junior yetwr. Miss Zellman put us to work and we had a nice Banquet and Prom. The theme was The Oriental Gardens? This year we are Seniors. Our plans are to graduate and go to New York and Washington D.C., if Mrs Edwards helps us raJ.se the money. Now all stories end with a happy ending and when we get our diploma we will live happily ever after. Jack Austin, United States Senator, has been appointed chairman of that all important National Poolroom Investigating committee. Pat Bissett. richer than all the rest, has cashed in a few of his oil wells. As a hobby, he gives away pennies. Patricia Ann Bobo, the quiet girl in our room, is now teaching her pupils how not to get butterflies before giving a speech and I might add, without much success. Joann Brown, the society doll, has just made her first motion pic- ture, her co-star was Elvis Presley. Moreland Coates, our newest rock and roll singer, has Just sold a million records of Hot Rod Boogie . Brock DeMuth is now a professor of science, .hobbies, and invent- ions. His latest invention is an unbreakable beaker. Dorothy DeWolf after a visit from'the Millionaire used her fortune to build up Paisley. In a short while, it will be as big as Orlando. Helene Ervin is now operator and owner of Florida's famous dude ranch in the Ocala National Forest. What's this, Gambrell's Dictionary ? fes, Glenn Gambrel because he couldn't find some correctly spelled words, wrote his own. Hartley Hethcox, the nationally known interior decorator, gives lectures on television about, Understanding Modern Furniture . Frances Howaro 'and Patty Cooper are still in one of the nation's many nursing schools. They cannot decide what to make their specialty medicine 'giving,or pulse counting. Roger Johnston is now a professional coach for the Johnston-Globe- Trotters. After four years of college, Barbara Ann Maxwell is still trying to decide what to major in, basket weaving or physical education. An SOS signal has been received on earth from Jerry Kenyon, the sensational Army test pilot, whose space ship has run out of fuel on the moon. Gerald Nichols, the big game hunter, recently returned from Africa after discovering a new variety of fish, boneless, for fish frys. Virginia Parrish Exelby has just graduated from that famous school of music. Sing Sing. A bright redhaired lady, Jackie Sue Penley, has been made famous on color television. That blushing red blends in wonderfully with the back-ground. Jeannie Shockley, after many failures, has finally broken the world's typing record, 13 words a minute. Speed Demonl Jerry Shockley has gone professional, that is,professional woman chaser. , Vernon Lee Smith has made a world record wearing out 100 tractors In one year. They don't seem to make them as good as they used to. Dr. Peggy Van Solus has just discovered a cure for the Asiatic flu and for the discovery, she won the Nobel Prize for Medicine. Theresa Williams is busy keeping house for ner husband and child- ren.
