Tom Van e Dyke, Kenneth Mahurin, Jack Russell, Richard Tweedy, George Jordan, Jim Hil- dreth, Georges Hengeveld, Claude Killen, George Lane, Don Weselsky, John Kins- ler, Horace Ivey, Dick Davis, Ed Walsh. Les Grant Although the Block U Society is the largest organization for boys in the school, it has been the least active and most dormant of the student body clubs. There have been just three meetings this year. Many of the members of this society, as individuals, are active. But with the many possibilities for improving the welfare of the school, nothing in any way has been done by this group as a whole to cooperate with the attempts of other organizations. CITIZENSHIP COMBIITTEE The most faithful and conscientious committee of the standing committees of the student body, this group gets the least recognition of any, and -certainly the least thanks. They represent the entire student body and meet regularly every Monday morning to keep students' citizenship reco-rds in good order. In late May their records showed that the following seniors have main- tained a perfect Citizenship Standing for the four years they have been in high school: Charles Johnson, Charles Norfolk, and Mary Morgan. GIRLS' LEAGUE Isabelle Ashton Audrey Doak Miss Hollenbeck Julia Broggl CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION Georges Hengeveld Miss Giles Genevieve Doran Clara Denham Jean Thornton Lorraine Mankins Marjorie Messick Bertha Starke , Bill Williams Kenneth Mahurin GIRLS' LEAGUE The first big event of this organization was the dinner for the purpose of get- ting better acquainted with the freshmen girls. Following the dinner and program on this evening, Big Sisters, helped Little Sisters in their efforts at dancing. The picture which the League sponsored at the theater, Dante's Inferno, was both a social and financial success. Cash night at the local theater provided a ready market for the League's home-made candy on several occasions too. Their usual custom at Thanksgiving time, that of providing baskets for needy families, was not forgotten this year, and the baskets seemed bigger and better than ever before. The League was well represented at the Arcata Convention this year, where Eloise Thomas spoke on 'What Constitutes School Spirit . The Mothers' Tea in May and the Boys' Banquet in April, both accompanied by elaborate programs, completed a very full year for this organization. CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION Bill Williams as treasurer and Miss Giles as vice-president for the Northern Region of the C. S. F. gave Ukiah High School recognition this past year. Five members attended the fall meeting of this district, held at Tamalpais High School in December. Georges Hengeveld, Bill Williams, Marjorie Messick, and Miss Giles attended the spring convention held at Analy High School at Sebastopol in April. A new plan, whereby two of the ten honor points necessary for membership may be gained by outside activities, has been formulated, and is now before the faculty for approval. CRGANIZATIGNS

If school spirit seems to have revived, this organization is in a great measure responsible for it. Playing at all games, programs, and rallies, it has added greatly to pep and enthusiasm in school affairs. The orchestra has given several splendid performances this year. The most appreciated of these was their accompaniment for the operetta. On the evening of May 22 the entire music department delighted its listeners with a program of music. An A Capella Choir from the choral class, selections by the Beginners' Orchestra and the Advanced Orchestra, and various solos were among the program numbers. USIC
