Tl-IE FACULTY Now Charlie is the boss of our school upon the hill. He makes our life a happy one, instead of a grinding mill. Oh, Ruthie is a funny oneg she likes to stand and tell The definitions of every word from this wide world to hell. We have our talkative teacher, something no school ever lacks. But we all love dear old Chessall, just him and his Almanacs. And now we have a scholarly marm, the one they call Miss Giles. She knows who's who in every class without consulting her files We even have a music chap, a small but talkative man. No one can play the saxaphone just as hard as Saari can. Most red-heads have hot tempers, but this is not our case. Miss Kaiser is an exception, with her charm and freckled face. The coach is Mr. Christensen, an athlete of renown. The teams he turns out every year are feared in every town. The sewing lady is Mrs. Coxg she starts us off quite slow. In making seams with stitches small the time does quickly go. We have our little Shirley, as cute as she can be, And why she's not in Hollywood is more than I can see. Our Latin magistra is Eilers, and she's a grand old sport. She told how great that Caesar Was, but then she fell for Mort. Margaret is a competent nurse, she sees a deal of pain. If you should choose your arm to break, you could not have cocalne Holly is our active teach--from her we learn to swim. In that we do work very hard to make us thin of limb. Cars at times do need repairg just shove them up the hill. If Mr. Roberts can't oblige, his husky laddies will. Paul is an honest, god-fearin' mang he always tells the truth. He used to spark with many gals, but settled down with Ruth. A specialist is lady Mac on bird and bug and shell. She handles them with greatest carey she seems to wish them well ELOISE THOMAS

FRESHMEN Sherod Santos Class President i l FRESHMEN The Freshman Ark embarked on its one year cruise on September 17, 1934. Captain Sherod Santos was at the wheel, Jean Thornton, in the berth of First Mate. Russell Polhemus was elected Purser, and Audrey Doak was appointed to keep the Ship's Log. The sailing was smooth for the first few days, but at the end of two weeks a squall occurred. During the squall, known to mariners as the Freshman Initiation, the participants of the cruise felt very much abused and uncomfortableg nevertheless. in a few days the smooth waters re- turned, and all were at peace. Presently the Captain, a jolly fellow, decided his guests needed di- versiong so he instructed his crew to plan a party. On the day of the party the ship weighed anchor at a beautiful isle. There the crew decorated a huge Christmas tree with brilliant lights and put a wreath on every tree. Every guest brought and placed under the tree a can of food, which was to be given to some poor natives on the isle. After the fun and frolic the ship again resumed its journey. And now we must bid aloha to the Freshman Ark, for the good ship is sailing over the horizon to other lands.
