The boys showed great interest in the game, although it was new to most of them. The first defeat was handed to the 'Cougars' by the strong Umapine team. Because of no football fiel the 'Coug- ars' were met on the opponents' gridirons in the five games played. These games were with Umapine, Pilot Rock, Irrigon, Lexington, and Boardman. Although experience was lacking in the team, the Ukiah squad managed to get the pigskin over the foal line at least once in each game. The six man football team made a creditable showing, considering that it consisted of beginners.
