P. row, Elnor Rice, lr. Gilchrist, Shirley Bolin, B. row, Dick Huston, Beverly Rogers. An attempt was made this year to revive speech in Ukiah High School. Through the efforts of Hr. Gilchrist, five stu- dents were persuaded to engage in that activity, two of them, Elnor Rice and Dick Huston, entering the district speech con- test at Pendleton. In the grades, Shirley Bolin, Beverly Rogers, and Lee Chamberlain gave humorous readings before the local P.T.A, It is hoped that a large number of students will partic- ipate in speech next year.
