C. B. Gilchrist Mr. C. B. Gilchrist was born near Sioux City, Iowa. At the age of 8, he moved to South Dakota, where he attended school, graduating from Huron College, South Dakota, in 1923, with a degree of Bachelor of Science. After graduation, he began to teach in North Dakota, but returned to South Dakota after two years. In this state he was a teacher, coach, high school principal, and then superin- tendent of schools. In 1943, he was elected as superintendent of Schools at Slletz, Oregon. In 1945 he was vice-principal , Dean of Boys, and Supervisor of Visual Aids at the Union High School at Sweet Home, Oregon. The years of 1946-48 found him as principal of the-Tumpa-lum School at Freewater, Oregon. This year he has been teacher and coach ln Uklah High School. In addition to his training to Huron College, Mr. Gil- christ has attended school at State Teachers College, Moor- head, Minnesota, and at the Eastern Oregon College of Educa- tion, at La Grande. His plans now are to attend Oregon State College for three summers in order to earn a Master's degree in Education. Hrs. Winifred Hillman-Langston Hrs. Langston was born on her grandfathers homestead, re- ceived elementary education in a one room country school in Hayes County, Nebraska, and attended State Normal at Kearney, Nebraska. She taught in the rural school there for four years, before moving to Colorado, where she earned a Colorado Second State Certificate. From there with her family she moved to Idaho and on to Oregon. When the cry for emergency teachers went out, she qualified and has since taught four terms in this state. She has taught the upper grades in the Ukiah School ml has been director of girls physical education in both grades and high school. Mrs. Alice Forbes Alice Forbes was born near Lake Mills, Iowa, and shortly after moved with her parents to Montpelier, North Dakota. She received her elementary education in Manns country school dis- trict, and graduated from the Montpelier High School. She then taught four years in a one-room school near Montpelier. She then went to the State Teachers College at Valley City, North Dakota, where she received a Second Grade professional certificate, after which she taught for three years in various places in North Dakota, in two-room consolidated schools. Before coming to Uklah, Oregon, she lived in Glyndon, Minnesota, for five years. The past two years she has taught in the Ukiah School, in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. She hopes to spend another pleasant term in the Uklah School.

Alice V. Gilchrist Alice V. Gilchrist is a native of South Dakota, having been born at Wesslngton Springs, in that state. Her high school and normal work was pursued at Wessing- ton Springs Junior College, during her four year stay at that institution. In addition to her work at this school, she attended sum- mer schools at Eastern Normal, Dakota Wealeyon University, and Black Hills Teacher College, all located in South Dakota, and at Eastern oregon College of Education, La Grande, Oregon. She has also earned five credits by extension in Oregon. Her plans for the summer of 1949 are to attend school at Monmouth, Oregon. The majority of her sixteen years of teaching has been spent in primary work, although at Siletz, Oregon, she con- ducted the high school chorus for two years. She has had a great deal of experience in conduction grade choruses and grade operettas. Her grade operetta 'ID a Flor1st's Garden,' was presented at Ukiah in April of 1949. Since ,coming to Ukiah, she has been accompanist-for the high school chorus, in addition to her work as primary teachen
