Wrestling in Utah and Colorado the Utes ran up fifty straight wins. One of the most exciting matches was the defeat of the Class AA champs. 151 In his sixth year at Uintah, Coach Doug Moon led the Utes through their first undefeated season in Region Six play, and on to state tournament competition. The Class A champions of Region Six. led by two re- turning starters, Hadlock and Jones, featured a powerful defense and a consistent offense. The highlight of the season was probably the two over- time wins over the traditional rivals, Union. With Hadlock being named All-State and Jones and Walker receiving All-Region honors, basketball fans will look back on the '70-71 season with pride. Coach Taylor is the source of much of this confidence, his ability to instill pride, determination, and confidence in his athletes is perhaps the key to his success and national recognition.
