Business Manager Valda Massey....................Advisor Lithographed by COMMUNITY PRESS Orem, Utah 1 Will Remember f C . . . this eventful year at Uintah. As the veil of time fills the track which we have set down in the past, the power of recall is not yet lost. We will remember always the qualifies of leadership our faculty so displayed. The friendliness and the spirit to progress have brought our distant goals closer to our per- spectives. The footsteps of the class of 1966 echo down the halls, not to disappear, but to be kept ever resonant by the record in this, your Uintahn. 'O . School curricu- lum is established to furnish the student with tools to help hurdle the obstructions placed in his path, and to open and lift his eyes in search for positive ex- periences to help him in growing toward success in life and citizenship. Surely the time has come for high and low alike to cease concentrating upon disheartening situations and to adopt a less childish, more manly, more American, more helpful attitude. Transforming our mental attitude will do more than anything else at this stage to hasten improvement of both our materi- al and our economic status. Your future will depend upon a clear vision of goals and achievement. Lift up your eyes; walk into your future proud and confident. It concerned a country five miles long by three miles wide that declared war on the United States and won! Grand Fenwick ruled the world! In this particular situation, Leonard Sullivan played the lead opposite Veronica Wallen. They were supported by actors Robert Hunting and Corey Grua. To make things interesting, soldiers from Grand Fenwick invaded New York City with bows and arrows and accidently captured the Quaduim Bomb. The plot present- ed battles?!? romance!?! Well, anyway, the play proved to be a delightful, chuckle-provok- ing production. 105 Memories of an Unforgettable Gary Tassainer (Quarterback) Ron Pederson (Tackle) Dale Bowden (Tackle) Joe Davis (Guard) David Schwobe (Guard) John Shumway (End) Left to right: Coaches Moon, Taylor, and Preece. There are various sections of homemaking, mechanics, vocational agri- culture, auto mechanics, and mechanical drawing. In the homemaking department skills important in many phases to life are studied. The girls learn cooking, sewing, managing time and money, courtship and marriage, mother and baby care, plan- ning and decorating a home, buying food and planning meals. The boys begin preparation in the available classes in the vocational field. In these classes are contained our future farmers, electricians, ‘ craftsmen, engi- neers, draftsmen, architects, carpenters, and many other occupations. Fifteen boys from Uintah High School at- tended the 1965 Boys' State. (Kent and Brent Rex, whose pictures are missing also attend- ed.) Five girls were chosen to attend Girls' State with one alternate. During the week-long sessions the boys and girls learn about our government and put their knowledge into practice by electing their own state officers. At the end of the week they have a complete state organization with elected officers all the way from governor to county auditors and city councilmen. To the hallow'd Halls of Uintah Ev'ry voice will bid farewell, And shimmer off in twilight Like the old vesper beil. One day a hush will fall The footsteps of us all Will echo down the hall and disappear, But as we sadly start Our journeys far apart, A part of ev'ry heart will linger here In the sacred Halls of Uintah, Where we've lived and learned to know. That through the years We'll see you in the sweet after glow. Today Our Opportunity -- Tomorrow Our Destiny Who’s Who Of Traditionally about ten percent of the mem- bers of each senior class are elected to Who's Who of Uintah High School.
