fjLM Ax£ The Art courses at Uintah High School are designed with a twofold purpose in mind: The first is to give the student who has the desire and the abil- ity to enter the different fields of professional art the background they need. We also aim to give the student a way of expression. Hence, we have the second fold of the purpose. Not every student who enters the art program in Uintah will become successful artists. They don't have the desire or the ability. To these students we attempt to give an appreciation of what art is. MR. ARON THEDELL The speech classes at Uintah have as their mottos We learn to speak by speaking and Thorough preparation is the best fear remover. Skills of speaking are an asset to everyone everyday. MR. ELLIS WORTKEN The Music Department has as its main goal developing talents and interests of students to their fullest. Many types of music are performed and studied--from pop music to the heaviest classics--in order to accomplish this goal. The only minitations placed on a stu- dent’s advancement are those he sets for himself. Many opportunities arise throughout the year for solo and small group work and all students who are interested are given a chance to participate. Each year the music department participates in two music concerts, a music festival and a broadway musical.
