' The Echo ' Senior Glass History VVe the class of '26 entered Uhrichsville High School in the year of 1922. As Freshmen we commenced work in the Uhrich Street Building, but in January of 1923 we entered the New High School Building which has been a great inducement for better work. We had the same trials as other Freshmen but succeeded in overcoming all of them. The Class Party was held in the Uhrich Street Building. Our Sophomore year we organized and settled down to a year of marked success. The class had lost a few members, about eighty-seven remained. VVe had representatives of our class in every athletic sport and many received honors in scholarship. The Sophomore party was held on St. Valentine's Day in the High School Gym. Our Junior year became more difficult. It was like a mountair which, on nearing the top, becomes so steep that one despairs of reaching its heights. Even with those obstacles to meet, our efforts were not in vain, for we made excellent records. The Junior party was held on St Patrick's Day in the High School Gym. The last social event of thc year was the Junior-Senior Banquet which was a great success. Our Senior year has come! How old and responsible it has made us feel to be called Seniors. All these years we have been laying the founda- tiong now we are ready to start the building-how large or how small each building will be depends on the foundation that each one has laid. Some have decided that this will not be the end of their school days, but will seek higher education in Colleges and Universities. The Seniors held their annual party the first semester and a Senior- Freshman party the second semester. Now we are looking forward to the Junior-Senior Banquet and the Alumni Banquet. Our High School career will close with the Baccalaureate sermon and the Graduation exer- cises. Allow us to express our appreciation by telling you how glad we are to have been here the past four years and how sorry we are to leave. May the friendships we have formed in our school days, the springtime of life never be forgotten. May the Spirit of Uhrichsville High School remain with us an unquenchable fire throughout our lives. A Richard Fiedler. 29 4-
