The Yeomen and per- sonnelmen maintain the Ship's Office and are responsible for the bulk of paperwork carried out on board. Of special interest to the rest of the crew should be the fact that Ship's Office processed over three thousand special request chits while we were deployed. The Quartermasters assisted in navigating the German Raider over ap- proximately 53, 061 miles during the deploynaent. The Quartermasters were also responsible for handling all of the Weather reports the ship received. Perhaps the most important contribution of the Quartermaster gang was their accurate fixing of the sh1p's position While We were on the gunline After overcoming seemingly un surmountable obstacles, the Quartermasters consistently came up with accurate positions enabling the gunfire provided by the German Raider to be right on target Also in ON Division is a lone Photographer's Mate who is responsible for taking and developing nearly all of the pictures in this book 3
