Melodious Before the lights go on and the curtain draws back, l many hours of hard work go into the preparation of the l different fields of entertainment for the faculty and students at U. S. Grant. Of these, one of the most difficult, but N most pleasurable is music, whether it be entirely instru- l mental, vocal, or both. Our students of music take great pains to reach a l standard of perfection. The art of combining tones so that they are pleasing, expressive, and intelligible, is very diffi- cult and many times may require one to work after class hours to reach such a harmonious quality. I8
