Hours of work are put into the perfecting of a difficult piece. Senior High Orchestra is the most advanced ofthe orchestras and as such performs on many occasions throughout the year as well as sending individual students to contests and performing for church and civic groups. The high point of the year is, of course, the annual spring concert. The Senior High Orchestra has three purposes, members, our school, and our community. For the members it provides training on orchestral playing, a love for good music, and a sense of musicianship. In our school, the orchestra adds to the spirit by re- presenting Grant in competition with schools all over the state. And last they encourage our community to maintain a unity and interest in the cultural aspects of community life. Perform. The Junior Orchestra is a training orchestra which provides an opportunity for students coming to Grant from the grade schools to play in an orchestra. It performs several functions during the year as well as sending students to the contests during the spring of each year. Like the Senior Orchestra they have three purposes or aims. They are training members, adding spirit to our school, and encouraging our community to keep their cultural aspects in life.
