Red Cross The Junior Red Cross is a Service club, which is open to both junior and Senior school students. It is a National organization, and 'Ser- vice co others' is its motto. Popular projects ate: entertaining at the veterans hospital, and for the needy, working in hospitals, and filling Christmas boxes.

Drill Team Provides Entertainment At Ball Games 373' During the two years of its existence the U. S.Grant Drill Team, now known as the Grant Kadettes, has brought en- joyment to spectators and pleasure to the girls with their twirling routines and drills. Under the capable leadership of Mr. jack Alder, the drill team won a superior rating in the junior division of the Altus Twirling Festival and as a result was awarded a X -I N , loving cup. A -' Little Nancy Burch, jan Grady and Charlotte Lovette, mascots, are an added attraction to the drillteam and have Q participated in all activities. X V With the departure of Mr. Alder to the armed service the , fs X- drill team is now under the direction of Miss Judy Glover. .M Mrs. Louise O'Steen is sponsor. Grant Students leave pep assembly. 1 aw' Future Teachers See Teaching From The Other Side. are 1 l W, fe Students listen earnestly while, Chapel devotion is given. The Russel C. Browe Club of the Future Teachers of America received its charter, january 22, 1957, with fourteen charter members. This year the club has twenty-eight members. The purpose of this club is to help those interest- ed in teaching as a profession to plan for such a career by acquainting members with colleges and universities in Oklahoma and encouraging members to cultivate personal qualities desirable in a good teacher. Our aim is that The Russel C. Browe Club will be- come a strong unit and reflect honor on our name- sake, Mr. Russel C. Browe, our beloved principal of U. S. Grant School. Also, we hope we can help our members realize their aspirations to become excellent teachers. This club presents a fifty dollar scholarship each spring to its most deserving senior member.
