He received an appointment to the midshipman school at North- western University in 1944 and was connnissioned an Ensignf Mr. Lake spent the remainder of Wforld XfVar I1 in the Pacific Theatre aboard the DD Robinsrm. ' After the War, he transferred to the regular Navy and was assigned to tfhe destroyer USS Sarshcld as Communications Officer. He later served as Executive Officer in the PCEC 877 from 1947 to 1949 after which he commanded the PC 579, a training ship assigned to the Fleet Sonar School at Key VVest, Florida. He has been a menrber of the OCS staff since May, 1951. LT ROBERT H. LAKE WILLIAM J. KEITH, GMC Jdasf. omyaany Qf icer 'Chief Keith entered the Navy in 1940, taking his basic training here at Newport, R. l. Throughout tlhe Wzlr, he was stationed mostly in the Pacific area. He was a member of the initial Guadalcanal engagement while serving aboard the Battleship North Carolina, and from 1945 to 1948, he was aboard the Wyoming and Mississippi. , From 1948 to 1952, Chief Keith was attached to the Fleet Training Camp at Norfolk, Va.
