Howard USMCR, Ground Training Offi cer. ini 14- After completing the instrument training in squadron 13, a cadet advances to one of the six specialized squadrons for final training. The first of these fighter squadrons are l4A and l4C stationed at Kingsville Field. Located about 35 miles southwest of the Main Station in Corpus Christi, Kingsville was commissioned on July 4, 1942. The SNJ indoctrinates the incoming cadets into a smaller and more sensitive type of aircraft. ln this plane, cadets also apply the navigational and basic flying work he has learned in the past months, in other squadrons.
