With a great many cadets coming to Corpus Christi to begin their training in service type aircraft, it was necessary to commission two fields to give instructions to cadets in basic flying. Cabaniss Field is quite similar to Cuddihy Field. When cadets arrive at Cabaniss, the Navy's future aviators begin their training in flying and the many important ground school subiects. Navigation is considered of maior importance in ground school, while a thorough study of Engines, Aerodynamics and Gunnery go to make up the rest of this syllabus. Squadron 'I2C instructors. The well-known Vultee trainer is used for basic flying.
