Used in every large scale attack by the Navy, their iob is to fly into the combat area which is the thickest with enemy defense. The purpose of the Torpedo Squadrons is to torpedo enemy convoys, task forces and any enemy ship within their range. Similar to the other fighter squadron syllabus, Squadron Sixteen instructs its students in the handling of the fast SMI Cadets are also familiarized with the larger planes which he will fly upon receiving his commission. A review of formation flying begins his training and socn after this is complete he begins practicing gunnery, dive bombing, and navigational flights.
