CAPTAIN W.F. KRANTZ Dear SA T Graduates: The experience you have gained and the valu- able training you have received during these past three months will benefit you in your life's pursuits. You are a member of one of the finest fighting organizations the world has ever known. The United States Navy has evolved a tradition of accepting nothing short of victory. In these critical times, it is incumbent that young men be prepared to bear arms and to oppose all foes who would encroach upon our counmy's liberty. It has been a pleasure having you men of the SAT program on board for the summer of 1967. Godspeed in your future endeavors. ri 9505 With some 28 years of Naval experience be- hind him, Captain William F. Krantz, USN, assumed command of Naval Air Station, Twin Cities on August 11th, 1966. Born in St. Paul, he attended Minneapolis Central High School, the University of Minnesota and the Navy Post Graduate School. Captain Krantz entered the naval service in january, i 1938. CDR. W. H. ROBINSON Commander William H. Robinson assumed the duties of Executive Officer in April, 1967. Like the C.O., Commander Robinson is not a stranger to the Twin Cities area. Born in Minneapolis, he attended North High and the University of Minnesota. He began his Naval career in 1942 as an Aviation Cadet and after completing flight training at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, he served the remainder of World War II assigned to a fighter squadron at Ouonset Point, Rhode Island. At the end of World War II he returned to civilian life and furthered his education at the University of Minnesota. He returned to active duty in 1948 and has since served at Norfolk, Va. as Atomic Weapons Instructor, Oberam- mergau, Germany with a staff of combined force fArmy, Navy and Air Forcej, NAS Oceana and NAS Dallas. Cdr. Robinson has also served at the Navy Representative instruct- ing NATO officers in special weapons. Cdr. Robinson assumed the duties of Personnel Officer and then Maintenance Officer until assuming the post of Executive Officer.
